Admission policy and Application form
The Application Form for Admission to First Year for 2026/2027 will be available from 10 am on TUESDAY 30th SEPTEMBER 2025 as follows:

Admissions to the 2026-2027 school year for first year
The following are the dates applicable for admission to First Year:
The school will commence accepting applications for admission on: | 10:00 Tuesday 30th of September 2025 |
The school shall stop accepting applications for admission on: | 16.00 Tuesday 21st October 2025 |
The date by which applicants will be notified of the decision on their application is: | 16.00 Tuesday 11th November 2025 |
The period within which applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer of admission is | 14 days |
Failure to accept an offer within the prescribed period above will result in the offer being withdrawn. The place will then be offered to the next applicant on the waiting list. The decision cannot be reversed. A new application form would need to be completed in order to be reconsidered for a place.
Important **
Offers of places and Getting Started Forms will ONLY be sent electronically to the contact email address supplied in the Application Form. Applicants must ensure that the email address supplied on the Application Form is active and monitored. Educate Together Secondary School Wicklow is not responsible for letters of offer missed through the non-monitoring of accounts, junk mail filters etc.
Autism Class Application and Decision Dates for admission to the 2026/2027 school year for First Year
ETSS Wicklow with the approval of the Minister for Education, has established three classes to provide an education exclusively for autistic students / students with autism. Children and young people are eligible for enrolment in a special class for autistic students / students with autism when the following is provided in support of such an application:
Professional report(s) outlining:
- Diagnosis of special educational needs (e.g. Autism: DSM IV/V or ICD 10/11 (psychologist, psychiatrist, multi-disciplinary report)
AND
- A demonstration of the understanding of complexity of the child’s overall level of need/s evidenced in the professional reports
AND
- Given the severity or complexity of the child’s support needs, a clear professional recommendation as to what educational placement type would be most appropriate to best meet the child’s needs, along with the rationale for same
AND
- A letter from the NCSE confirming that the child is known to them and that the child has the required diagnosis and recommendation for a special class for autistic students / students with autism.
[Circular 39/2025 advises parents/guardians seeking to enrol their child or young person in a special class or special school:
- that they should notify the NCSE by 1 October and engage with them on the range of options which are available to meet the needs of their child or young person and
- that parents/guardians should obtain a letter from the NCSE to submit with their admission application for a special class or special school confirming that the child meets the requirements for enrolment to that setting.
The following are the dates applicable for admission to the school’s autism class which caters for children with autism

Note: the school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s Admission Policy.

ETSS Wicklow reserves the right to limit the number of incoming students each year, if it is deemed necessary. While every effort will be made to cater for all eligible applicants, the school is dependent on the accommodation provided to it by the Department of Education and Skills.
Procedure for 1st Year Student Entry September 2026
The process of admission to ETSS Wicklow will include a number of stages
- Information regarding the commencement of the enrolment procedure will be communicated via the school website and social media
- Application forms will be made available online or from the school office from 10 am Tuesday 30th September 2025
- All aspects of the application form must be completed by the parents/guardians of the student enrolled. (The information sought therein complies with the regulations of the various Data Protection Acts and will be managed in accordance with these acts)
- Application forms can be downloaded from the ETSS Wicklow website www.etsswicklow.ie from 10 am Tuesday 30th September 2025
- Application forms will only be accepted in respect of first year entrants, i.e., students starting second level in September 2025.
The closing date for completed application forms will be 4 pm on Tuesday 20th October 2025

- The number of places that were available in First Year 2023-2024 was 72
- The number of places that were available in First Year 2022-2023 was 72
- The number of places that were available in First Year 2021-2022 was 72
